Vision
link2danish is run by Tina Nielsen. It is my mission to provide professional and individually-designed Danish courses responding to the needs and requirements of the learner as well as the work environment. Focus is on vocabulary and pronunciation, but also on the subtle cultural differences and meanings which are just as important.
link2danish focuses on each individual learner’s language and cultural background, the culture of the company and the situations in which the learner needs the language. Every course is unique. I believe that knowledge of Danish language and culture is the key to a good life in Denmark.
Experience
Since 2008 I have specialised in providing individually-designed Danish courses to a large number of workplaces in Copenhagen. Between 2002 and 2011 I was employed at two large language schools in Copenhagen and therefore I also have a profound knowledge of the official demands at language schools.
Motivation
I have personal experience of moving to a new country having lived and worked in Germany, England, Switzerland and Belgium. My time abroad combined with my experiences as a Danish instructor, have given me great interest in working with cultural differences. I have continuously increased my insight and developed my cross-cultural competences in how to best cope with cultural differences.
Education
I have a MA in German (cand.ling.merc. at Århus University, School of Busines and Social Sciences) and a BA in English. Later I studied Teaching Danish as Second Language for Adults at the University of Copenhagen including courses in Danish acquisition and cultural understanding and intercultural communication. I have also studied intercultural conflict management (Center for Conflict management) and taken the courses: Cultural Diversity, History, myth, and narrative in a cultural and theoretical perspective and Culture negotiated: Local and global processes at the University of Copenhagen.
